I did not know that Joe, such a funny fellow, had passed away. Anyone have any further information?

Yes, he was a very funny fellow.  I wonder what happened too.  Doesn't anyone out there know? Please let the rest of us know something.

If there is one person i would like to hear about that, that is Joe.

Joe was indeed a funny and friendly guy. So very sad to hear that Joe is gone. RIP Bayside friend..

I spent a lot of time with Joe during high school. Fraternity brothers and friends. Golf, poker, philosophy, talking about girls. He played drums, Fred Bertino played bass, and I on the piano for a little jazz trio. We once played on stage during a big assembly. There is a picture of us in the 1960 yearbook. He could be a deep thinkier, but also had a temper. I remember him throwing his golf clubs and swearing when he blew a shot.

Joe was a heavy chain smoker (Camels, unfiltered) already in high school, and he liked to drink. His fingers had yellow stains from cigarette tar.I Everyone in his family smoked heavily. His father died while we were still in high school, he had a seriously ill brother, and his mother was also in ill health. There was the elder brother who seemed well and everyone in the family looked up to him. Was there a sister as well? My memory is vague about that, but I think so.

I last spoke to Joe  during the mid-1990's when he called me as I was living in Toronto. If I remember correctly he had been divorced and was inwardly struggling. I don't know exactly when he died, but I don't think it was long after that. But someone knows because I was told about it, but I don't remember by whom.

Of course, Carol Weidowke was the love of his life. During our phone chat he still spoke about that!

Maybe Bill Casale knows more precisely when he passed. Do you, Bill?

Last time I saw Joe was at a reunion.    I didn't recognize him at first.  He was living near or with his daughter.  I seem remember he was a teacher.    Trust he had fun with his students........      Unfortunately, I had to tell him that Carol Weidowke passed away in the mid-1970's after a car accident.   We all had such good times with Joe.    I miss them both!    Mimi
